Antoine Bleck is the finest interpreter of French songs in New York City. Restaurant owner, singer, songwriter & entrepreneur, Antoine Bleck arrived in the United States from his native France 25 years ago. After working in the restaurant business for years, he opened his own place, the midtown restaurant/lounge Opia, in 2001. It was on a Monday night at Opia with a Brazilian band that Antoine first sang the songs he had been writing in his basement for many years. That fateful night led to the release of his first CD “Principe Favorable” three years ago. Since then, Bleck has performed frequently at Opia, as well as at Le Jazz au Bar and most recently at Joe’s Pub (with Ray Parker on bass, Marc Shulman on guitar, and David Silliman on percussion) where he celebrated the release of his new CD Mes Illusions featuring lyrics co-written by Bleck and his friend and mentor CharlElie Couture, a popular French singer and artist.

With a jazzy pop style that has been described as "bluesy funky with a je ne sais quoi French style," Bleck’s music is inspired by the likes of Steely Dan and Michael Franks, as well as his compatriotes Michel Jonasz, Jacques Dutronc, and Serge Gainsbourg. With the release of Mes Illusions and his upcoming live shows, Bleck continues to capture the hearts of sophisticated audiences with lyrics that go from humorous to sentimental, describing moods, situations and even adolescent fantasies.
