THE WORLD GREAT FAMILY SINGERS

They also appeared on a local television show, “The Jerry Van Dyke Show,” in Terre Haute, Indiana. In addition to this appearance, The Hutchinsons recorded several commercials for Al Abrams Pontiac. During this time the Hutchinson act appeared under several names including, Three Ribbons and a Bow, The Heavenly Sunbeams and The Hutchinson Sunbeams. As the later part of the 1960’s rolled around, The Hutchinson Sunbeams evolved into what we know today as The Emotions. Jeanette, Wanda and Sheila recorded several singles for local labels giving the group more notoriety in their region of the country. Pervis Staples and The Staples Singers were very influential in the next step that was taken by the act. The group appeared in a talent contest at the Regal Theater in Chicago. That evening, The Emotions won the contest and were signed to the Stax / Volt label. After releasing the successful “So I Can Love You” project, The Emotions were on a hot streak and teamed up with producers Isaac Hayes and David Porter for their next big hit single at Stax / Volt, titled, “Show Me How” from the album “Untouched” released in 1971. The Emotions were running up the charts consistently with hit records. In March 2001, The Emotions were honored by Prestige Entertainment / The Make a Wish Foundation with the 2001 Prestige Award. The Emotions, today comprised of Wanda, Pamela, and Sheila Hutchinson, released their final album in 1990. They continue to perform and make personal appearances. Wanda, now married, resides in Glendale, California and has three daughters, two of which plan to enter the music industry themselves. Pamela lives in Hollywood, California with her husband and daughter. Sheila still resides in Chicago, where she takes care of her mother Lillian, her youngest sister Keena, and Keena’s daughter (Joseph Hutchinson died in 1985).

The 5 Brown. The 5 Brown continue to Rule The Billboard Classical Chart No Boundaries, the latest album from The 5 Browns, has spent 20 consecutive weeks at number one on Billboard's Traditional Classical chart, far outpacing the rest of the titles on the chart and confirming yet again the quintet's emergence as the new champions of classical music. In its 20th week at number one, No Boundaries was selling more than twice as many units as the number two title. The 5 Browns are brothers and sisters -- Ryan, 20; Melody, 21; Gregory 23; Deondra, 25; and Desirae, 27 -- who are all serious, ambitious Juilliard- trained concert pianists. Performing together, individually and in different combinations, they have created a unique phenomenon in classical music that is reflected in the title of their new album. Their debut album wowed critics and audiences alike, and led Billboard to rank the talented quintet as one of the Top Classical Artists of 2005, with the number two Top Classical Album of the year. The 5 Browns recently performed on NBC's Weekend Today and ABC's The View, as well as appearing with Martha Stewart on Martha and on The Tony Danza Show and A&E's Breakfast with the Arts. They have been featured in Elle Girl, People, Time for Kids, USA Today, Cosmo Girl, Teen, Entertainment Weekly, Readers Digest, and Keyboard. Email: JDiamond20@aol.com

Five Star is a British pop / R&B group, from Romford in Essex, which was formed in 1983. The group was comprised of three sisters, and their two brothers: Denise Lisa Maria Pearson - born June 13, 1968 , Doris May Pearson - born June 8, 1966 , Lorraine Samantha Jean Pearson - born August 10, 1967 , Stedman Pearson, Jr. - born June 29, 1964 , Delroy Pearson - born April 11, 1970. Known for their glamorous image, distinctive matching costumes and heavily choreographed dance routines, Five Star were one of the UK's biggest musical acts between 1985 and 1990. In the summer of 1986 they became the youngest act ever to top the album chart with their million seller, Silk and Steel, which later went on to yield a record total of seven single releases, a record number at the time, (which was bettered by Michael Jackson's eighth single release from Bad in 1989). In 2001 Five Star's 31st official single release "Funktafied" was a big hit on the US R&B chart and a minor hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (the first time they had featured in it since 1988). Five Star returned to the UK in 2002 (now a trio comprising Stedman, Denise and Lorraine) to perform on various tours (which have included the 2002 Here and Now nostalgia tour).
