Reproduced from the book "Best Musicians, Singers, Albums and Entertainment Personalities of the 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries", Volume V of World Who's Who in Jazz, Cabaret, Music and Entertainment.

This is the final result of an international poll/survey conducted in 75 countries as of June 15, 2007. Age range of the respondents: 27-72. Number of questionnaires sent: 315.000. A glance at the findings are quite revealing. For instance, thousands still remember The Mamas and The Pappas and particularly Michelle Phillips. Cher did not make the list even though, she earned more than $700 millions throughout an illustrious career. Ann Murray, Bono and Eminem did not score high enough to make the list. Trini Lopez was among those who topped the list. His redendition of “If I Had a Hammer” was regularly mentioned in the responses. Among the artists who scored very high outside the United States are: Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, Paul Anka, Tom Jones, Barbra Streisand, Charles Aznavour, Doris Day, Madonna. Among those who scored high in the United States are: Willie Nelson, B.B. King, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Tina Turner.  It is fair to mention that the votes of the author and FAMPSPA were primordial in the selection process. Margin of error 5%.
