Borla’s recordings and performances have earned her consistently high praise for her beautiful sound, superb technique, adventurous repertoire and imaginative vocal improvisations.  With her new CD, she continues to expand the parameters of jazz vocal repertoire and the use of the voice as an instrument.  Often cited for her adventurous, risk-taking approach, she continually challenges herself, keeping vocal improvisation front-and-center in her performances. A recognized pioneer in vocal jazz education, she founded the Janice Borla Vocal Jazz Camp, now in its 19th season. Following her set, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Janice will be signing her CD release at the Borders onsite store, located in the Petit Trianon on the third floor of the Hilton, adjacent to the Trianon Ballroom.  The IAJE Conference is the world’s largest jazz gathering, attracting over 8,000 educators, musicians, music industry executives, media and students from 45 countries.  The four-day conference will include presentations and performances featuring many of the world’s most respected professional jazz groups and musicians. Ms. Borla is listed in the World Who's Who in Jazz, Cabaret, Music and Entertainment.

The convention's festival-like activities also spill over and extend into the many jazz clubs around town.  To be included in the programming at 55Bar on Jan 11th  is an extraordinary break for this band; we want to fill the room as best we can! Katie Bull - jazz vocals, Michael Jefry Stevens - piano (look who's in town from Memphis!), Joe Fonda - bass,  Harvey Sorgen - drums, Jeff  Lederer - saxophones. Ms. Bull is listed in the World Who's Who in Jazz, Cabaret, Music and Entertainment.
