Two facts remain stronger than life itself: 1-The Monterey Pop Festival was the greatest musical event of all time. It showcased the best and most promising artists of the mid-1960’s, created a concert that gave musical talents a world exposure, and brought a new form of musical expression from underground to mainstream.2-Michelle Phillips will never be forgotten. She entered immortality!

165 top artists performed at 10 different venues around the world to put pressure on world leaders to help stop poverty in Africa. Concerts in 10 cities, including London, Philadelphia, Paris, Berlin, Johannesburg, Rome and Moscow. Live audience exceeded 2 million people. A TV audience of five hundred million people watched the concert. More than 26.4 million people from around the world sent text messages in support of the Live 8 campaign to cancel the debts of the poorest countries, setting a world record, organisers said. Total proceeds (including all sorts of sales, contributions, tickets, advertisement, promotional fees, food, etc.: $755 Millions!!
